This is an old revision of the document!

We would like to have plenty light. Not specifically top-down, lots of light from lots of angles is conducive to being able to see what we're up to.

Main Room Lighting

irl's Proposal

2 B22/E27 fittings to be installed (red), one in the center of each half of the room. These may be installed to not be independently switched, as the light switch will not be the primary means of control in the longer term.

Along the wall with the entrance door, the wall opposite the entrance door and the wall to the right when entering the room, RGBW LED strips (blue) to be installed. Each of the LED strips is controlled independently using an h801 controller flashed with the tasmota firmware. The remaining wall may have an RGBW LED strip installed, or may wait to see what happens with the shelving.

Additionally, 2x 12V DC 10A power supplies will be required to drive the LED strips and controllers, installed in diagonally opposite corners of the room.

phillips_hue bulbs would be installed in the B22/E27 sockets.

Upstairs Room Lighting

Future Goals

Central control of lights using some sort of automation package. recommended Phillips Hue bulbs, [https://hass.io] recommends LED tape w/ H801 controller also.
